St Piran's Hall, Goldsithney There are always a number of projects ongoing in the community and this section of the website highlights the current status of each one. Updates will often appear here in between Parish Council meetings and the date shows when a project has been updated. When complete, the folder icon turns into a thumbs up!

Neighbourhood Plan

Action:

It is still early days in the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish, but (in brief) the following progress has been made

Progress:

• The Neighbourhood survey has been analysed and published on the Parish Council website.

• Cornwall Council have agreed the formal designation of the Perranuthnoe Parish as a Neighbourhood Plan area

• Perranuthnoe Parish Council has established a sub committee of the Council to progress the plan by working with officers of Cornwall Council and the wider community. The Chairman is Cllr Andy Moore.

• Arrangements are being made to hold a drop in exhibition at St Pirans Hall to explain to the wider community what a Neighbourhood Plan is and how they can become involved.

• The date and time for this open meeting is 18th February 2016, between 15.00 hours and 17.00 hours

• A special e-mail address has been established for communication about the progress on the Neighbourhood Plan perranplan@btinternet.com

• Consideration is being given to publishing progress reports on village Facebook pages as well as Council noticeboards.

Goal post for playing fields at St Piran's Hall

Action:

Complete.

Progress:

Goal posts have now been erected. Netting to be fitted after the Charter Fair.

Possible footpath/cycle path Goldsithney - Marazion

Action:

The Parish Council are looking into the possibility of a footpath/cycle path between Goldsithney and Marazion.

Progress:

Ward Cllr Sue Nicholas, has secured some funds from Cornwall Council towards this project.

Neighbourhood Plan

Action:

The Parish Council is in the processed of drawing up the template for its neighbourhood plan. This is an important document and will require the help of parishioners.

Progress:

A draft Questionnaire has been drawn up and was presented for approval at the 03 April 2014 meeting. This was approved and is now pending County Council.

Bus shelter lighting, South Road

Action:

The price for lighting the bus shelter will be around £540 + VAT + fitting. This would be for a vandal-proof solar powered lighting system

Progress:

The Parish Council felt that the street lamp opposite provided ample light and that the cost was not justified.

New play equipment, Goldsithney

Action:

The Parish Council is considering the purchase of some new play equipment for the village hall, and take over the responsibility of its upkeep.

Progress:

The Parish Council are having discussions with the Village Hall Committee and Cornwall Council. Cornwall Council have submitted a review on the condition of the play equipment, Parish Council to review.

Parking problems in Perranuthnoe

Action:

Councillor Sue Nicholas is contacting highways to look into finding a remedy to the parking problem, with the use of signage, yellow lines, etc.

Progress:

Maps showing where packing is a problem have been forwarded to Highways. This item is still on-going.

Parish seats

Action:

Tender approved. Awaiting good weather.

Progress:

Parish seat renovation has now been completed and a new plinth cast at Perranuthnoe bus stop with new seat fitted.

Bus shelter broken window

Action:

The bus shelter has now been vandalised for a second time. Due to the continuing vandalism the Council are debating if the broken windows should be replaced.

Progress:

Cllr’s Griffiths and Cllr Mepham replaced the broken bus shelter windows and cleaned the disgusting mess from the remaining glass.

Basketball hoops for the playing fields, Village Hall, Goldsithney

Action:

The council will discuss the siting of a hard pad for basketball hoops

Progress:

This item is on hold, the siting of a hard pad and hoop need further debate with the village hall committee
